Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open MyFinPal and go to Profile → Settings → Privacy & Data.
- Choose Delete account to remove your account and your cloud data, or Delete cloud data to remove only what MyFinPal stores in Google Firebase.
- Follow the prompts and type DELETE to confirm. You need an internet connection.
- If you signed in with Google or Apple, you will be asked to sign in with that provider once more to confirm it is really you. Nothing is deleted until you have done this; if you cancel or the verification fails, your account and data stay exactly as they were.
Deletion is carried out by a secure server-side function that identifies you from your signed-in session. It removes your cloud data first and your sign-in account last. If it cannot be completed, nothing is removed from your phone and you can safely try again.
What each option deletes
| Data | Delete account | Delete cloud data |
| Your data in Google Firebase: account details, usage signals and notification token | Deleted | Deleted |
| Your MyFinPal backup in your Google Drive, and files you exported | Not deleted (yours to remove) | Not deleted (yours to remove) |
| Your sign-in (Firebase Authentication) account | Deleted | Kept |
| Records stored on your phone | Erased by default (recommended). Optional: keep them locked behind your app PIN | Kept |
| Account and usage uploads | End with the account | Paused until you turn cloud services back on in Settings |
The records on your phone
- Erase everything on this phone (default, recommended). Removes your records, receipts, notes, settings, notification reminders and home-screen widget figures, so nobody else who uses the phone can see them.
- Keep my records, locked (optional). Only offered if you have an app PIN. Your records are sealed in an encrypted vault on the phone and are hidden from every other account, including new ones. To restore them, sign in later with the same email and enter your PIN; you can also erase them at any time in Settings → Privacy & Data → Locked records on this phone.
- Risk if you keep them: the records stay on the phone. Anyone who knows your PIN and can use your phone could restore them by signing in with your email, and if you forget your PIN you can only erase them. If you sell or give away the phone, erase everything instead.
What is not deleted
- Files you exported yourself (CSV, PDF or backup files you saved or shared). Delete these where you stored them.
- Your Google Drive backup. It is stored in your own Google account, so MyFinPal never deletes it for you. To remove it, open Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps → MyFinPal → Delete hidden app data.
- Diagnostics already sent to Google Firebase (analytics, crash and performance data). Google retains these under its own settings; see firebase.google.com/support/privacy. Once your account is deleted we no longer hold an account ID that links them to you.
Cannot use the app? Request deletion by email
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email admin@myfinpal.app with the subject Delete my MyFinPal account, from the email address registered to your account (or tell us the sign-in method and any details that let us identify the account). We may ask you to confirm you own the account before deleting. We aim to complete requests within 30 days.
